Meeting Doc-M and DDA compliance for our accessible loo trailers:

Ensuring disabled access is not just a matter of convenience but a legal obligation. The legislation primarily addressing this issue is the Equality Act 2010, which replaced and updated the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005. Under the Equality Act, service providers, employers and property owners have a legal duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities are not disadvantaged in accessing their services or premises. Our accessible toilet trailer is constructed to comply with UK Building Regulations Document M (Doc-M).

Compliance with Doc-M requires specifically designed fittings and components, as well as pre-determined room layouts which will offer users ease of use depending on the location and type of facility in question. (Reference Ideal Standard).

Although it was replaced by the Equalities Act in 2010, the term ‘DDA compliant’ is still commonly used when discussing laws protecting the rights of disabled people to access buildings, services and spaces. (Reference: Rapid Ramp).

Making sure we meet these criteria is just as important in our accessible mobile toilet trailers as it would be for an accessible or disabled washroom in a permanent building.

Interim servicing

If you have multiple events, don’t worry! We can reset the same loo trailer for another event.

Our interim service includes pumping out the waste tank, refilling the water tank, and cleaning and restocking the units to get them ready for the next day. For longer hires, we can determine if you need this service based on the duration of use and the number of guests expected to use it. For much longer hire periods, we can have the toilet trailer plumbed in for you so there’s no need for interim services. The accessible Deluxe Loo will simply function as part of your usual everyday waste system.

Additional services

If you would like to have an attendant on hand for your event we can provide a member of our team to check the cleanliness of the loo is kept to a high standard with new handtowels and loo roll as required. This is recommended for busy events where there is a high and constant turnover of guests using the facilities.
